We advise that you take the time to read our terms and conditions about the service and care we provide when your family member is in our care

Health Policy

You will be asked to send us a copy of your dog’s vet book showing their up-to-date vaccinations during the enrollment process, and on an annual basis. It is a requirement of your enrollment that your dog has all their vaccinations including Kennel Cough. You will also be asked to provide us with details of any medications that your dog may be on, as well as any other health related issues that they may have. It is important that we keep fleas to a minimum and we endeavor to do our part by having a regular bedding washing policy. In turn we require you to do your part by undergoing a regular flea treatment regime. If your dog is found to have fleas while at Zoomies, they will be given an insecticidal shampoo treatment and flea treatment at your cost. It is also important that your dogs’ nails are kept short so as not to injure other dogs or our staff. We can provide this service at $10 per dog. If we notice your dogs’ nails are getting a bit long, we will call you to confirm that you are happy for us to go ahead and clip them. If your dog has an upset stomach or a cough it is important that you keep them at home. We will endeavor to provide you with a make-up session at an alternative time.

Behavior Policy

We have an open policy with regards to behavior that relies on you telling us if your dog has any issues that may make daycare a challenging environment for them. Similarly, we will let you know if your dog has been involved in any unsociable behavior during their time with us. Not all dogs suit the daycare environment and we will let you know if any issues arise that lead us to believe that your dog might not be suitable. Please do not be offended, it is just safer for all concerned if these issues are communicated openly. Doggy daycares are primarily for sociable dogs that enjoy the company of others, they are not a place to try and improve an unsociable dogs’ behavior. Any dogs over the age of 2 years must be de-sexed. Prior to your young dog being desexed we reserve the right to only offer day care on days that suit our management system which enables male and female dogs to be kept separate. Puppies are welcome with the understanding that they will be de-sexed by 2yr of age if they wish to stay in the Zoomies environment. Our resource consent is conditional on us managing noise levels on the property. It is our prerogative to exclude noisy breeds of dog or to un-enroll a dog that continues to exhibit excessive barking tendencies.

Dropping Off & Collecting

Your dog is your responsibility until they are securely in our compound. Once you enter the carpark, they are your responsibility, so we advise they stay on leash until they are safely in your car or have entered our compound with gates shut to ensure their safety. Our drop off times are between 7.15am and 9am. Pick up times are between 4pm and 5.45pm. During these times the dogs will be inside to minimise noise disturbance to our neighbours. You are welcome to drop off and pick up outside of these times but please call first to make arrangements.

incident-report

Incident Policy

If any dog is showing signs of wanting to escape from the property, we may have to decide on their suitability to stay enrolled in the doggy daycare for their own safety. We take every precaution to reduce the risk of injury but with energetic play could come scratches and nips. Unfortunately, this is part and parcel of having a fun time, but your dog will always be fully supervised so any rough play will be quickly delt with before it escalates. We will record any incidents where dogs have received minor injuries. We reserve the right to contact your designated vet at any time that we have a concern for your dog’s health. All vet visits, medication, x-rays, examinations, treatments, surgeries etc. (either anti or post-mortem) shall be the responsibility of the owner.
